Once acne has displayed itself on your face, it is best to treat them. During treatment, however, it is still favorable to avoid factors that can aggravate or bring more harm to your blemishes. Knowing what factors to avoid during acne breakouts will help you in lessening and reducing inflammations caused by acne.

Food:
It is said that certain foods can trigger acne breakouts. Not really true. But there are certainly some that can worsen and aggravate your already existing acne. Oily foods and those rich in iodine, perhaps, as some would say. But it really is on a case-to-case basis. A person eating chocolate may aggravate his acne; another person suffering from the same affliction may not. So, it is best to observe what kind of foods you eat during acne breakouts so you can isolate the faulty food and avoid them the next time.

Stress:
Being stressed when you already have acne can do a lot to worsen your unsightly blemishes. It is said that during stress, your hormones are fluctuating more than the usual, so during acne breakouts, more hormonal imbalances produce more inflammation and irritation. So it is best to just relax and try not to let the stress get to you.

Cosmetics:

Wearing make-ups or cosmetics can clog up your pores, and irritate your acne, if you already have it. Since wearing make-up, for some, cannot be avoided, it is best to wear non-comedogenic, and oil-free cosmetics. These are kinds of cosmetics that won’t clog up your pores.
