We all know that scars are reminiscences of  injury of any tissue. They are always left where a tissue has been injured. There are internal scars also. When acne appears, the injury is caused by the inflammatory stimulus to the secretion of the plugged sebaceous gland, called sebum. There are two types of true acne scars. They are:- ice pick scars and keloids.

It is common knowledge that any injury in the body is dealt by the white blood cells. Thus when there is an inflammation in case of acne, then the white blood cells get into action to combat the bacteria that are present in the acne. these WBCs remain in this affected area for a period of a few days to a week. When their job is done, they leave a remnant of their site of action in the form of a scar. But this also happens only in the case of people who are hypersensitive towards cicatrices. Whatever said and done, the exact measure and reason why it occurs in some while not in others is till now unknown. In some, scarring only happens after a nodulocystic acne, while in others it may well appear after a small pimple as well. But in most cases, nodulocystic acne are causes of serious acne marks.
